Create beautiful visual art in .png and .pdf documents using design philosophy. You should use this skill when the user asks to create a poster, piece of art, design, or other static piece. Create original visual designs, never copying existing artists' work to avoid copyright violations.
What it does
Claude generates visuals that are technically correct and aesthetically generic. Without a design framework, it picks safe colours, safe layouts, and safe compositions — the visual equivalent of suggesting "it depends" when you ask for an opinion. This skill loads Anthropic's design philosophy for static visual work: compositional rules, colour palette discipline, typographic contrast, negative space, and the specific decisions that separate a designed poster from a generated one.
Use case
Creating a poster, piece of art, visual identity asset, or any static visual output that will be seen by people who care what it looks like. Use it whenever "looks nice" isn't good enough. Made by Anthropic.
"Create a conference poster for a machine learning talk — technical but visually striking." "Design a product launch announcement visual with our brand colours." "Make an infographic showing this data in a way that's actually readable." "Create a series of social media visuals with consistent visual identity." "Design a certificate of completion for our online course."
Describe the visual: purpose, dimensions, any required content, and tone.
Claude produces a PNG or PDF output — not a description of one.
Specify brand colours or reference images if consistency with existing assets matters.
Input
A description of the visual, its purpose, dimensions, required content, and any brand or stylistic constraints.
Output
A PNG or PDF file with deliberate compositional choices: considered colour use, typographic hierarchy, balanced layout, and visual interest that goes beyond the default.
